Engaged Youth - The Miami Foundation

Engaged Youth reflects The Miami Foundation’s commitment to developing new leaders for Greater Miami – starting in high school.  The program is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors from across Miami-Dade County.  We seek students with a passion to make a difference and be better leaders.

What does Engaged Youth offer?
The eight-month program combines the Foundation's deep community knowledge with an exciting approach to youth development created by our partner - Ashoka's Youth Venture.Youth will gain a deeper understanding of our community, develop leadership abilities through training and work in teams to take on a community project that makes a difference.

Youth will engage in workshops addressing:

  • Personal Exploration - examine personal passions and preconceptions of others
  • Community Exploration - understand how they are connected to Greater Miami
  • Issue Exploration - learn what causes the community problems they want to change
  • Social Ventures Development - develop solutions around issues they care about
